Manicure Mondays: Essie’s Ballet Slippers - Review

This is your classic pale pink - something I’d imagine many brides to use on their wedding day since it’s the quintessential pretty yet polished nail colour that's non offensive and goes with anything. I also hear it's the only nail polish the Queen will wear..

Despite this, it is a b*tch to apply. Since it’s a sheer formula, it's so easy for this one to streak. The brush doesn’t help either (unless you have Ballet slippers from the diffusion line). I just about managed with two coats but three would’ve been better.

The key to this is patience - wait until the first coat is dry until you apply the next. Also, have the right amount of polish on the brush & do not forget your top coat - it helps even things out. It does take some practice to get it right, but once you know how to apply it, it is beautiful.
